Newsflash

This year's World Mission Council report to the General Assembly has as its theme "Christians in minority situations".  Our submission details how the Presbytery of Europe - including, of course, Sri Lanka and Bermuda! - actually has a significant role to play here.  The whole submission can be viewed on our NEWS page...

INTRODUCTION

WELCOME to the website of the Church of Scotland's Presbytery of Europe.

We are Scotland's national Christian church - one with strong and historic missionary traditions. This is reflected in our 21st century VISION: "To be a church which seeks to inspire the people of Scotland and beyond with the Good News of Jesus Christ through enthusiastic, worshipping, witnessing, nurturing and serving communities."

This site will link you to any of our 17 congregations, mostly in mainland Europe but also in Malta, Bermuda and Sri Lanka.  Historically, they began as congregations of Scots living or visiting abroad - some well over 100 years ago - but their role has increased greatly and continues to develop.

We are a "reformed and reforming" church.  We use English as our language, follow the Reformed tradition - often in partnership with other churches - and have Church of Scotland ministers; but our membership is both international and interdenominational. And our missionary outreach stretches into Africa and Asia.

We're glad you're visiting our website. We hope you will feel part of our family of faith, and know that you will find a warm welcome with us.
